BYJU’S, India’s largest education technology company and the creator of one of the world’s most popular learning apps for school students, announced unveiling a major update focused on revolutionizing personalized learning experience for students across grades.
Featuring unique learning journeys, guided paths, actionable feedback and intelligent recommendations, this version of the app will be very interactive in nature. Taking personalized learning to a whole new level, BYJU’S has leveraged big data analytics to trace the learning fingerprint of every student and create a personalized learning experience on its platform.
Offering an engaging and effective learning experience, the app creates personalized learn journeys for individual students based on their proficiency levels and capabilities which helps them learn at their own pace and style.
Byju Raveendran, Founder, and CEO of BYJU’S hails from a small village called Azhikode in the Kannur District of Kerala. Born to Government school teacher parents, Byju is an avid sportsperson too. Byju started BYJU’S with the vision to help students fall in love with learning, and change the way India learns. Capturing the journey of the brand and the way BYJU’S is revolutionizing learning, Harvard Business Review has also done a case study.
About 300,000 students have downloaded the app in GCC countries with 40 percent of them from the UAE alone. Speaking of the massive adoption of the app, Byju said, “At BYJU’S, we have successfully transformed the one-to-many learning model to one-on-one personalized learning experiences through our app. It is extremely encouraging to see this scale of response. To ensure a better and deeper connection with the students of this region, we are setting up dedicated teams here who will be available to help students understand and experience personalized learning.”
“At BYJU’S, we strongly believe that children learn better when they love what they learn. Children these days are already friendly with smartphones and if something this effective and powerful comes on it, it becomes even more attractive to them. With 51 minutes spent on the app daily and close to 90 percent as renewal rates, we have set a new benchmark in the way students across age groups learn,” he added.
BYJU’S currently has learning programs for math and science for students from grade 4 to 12. Overwhelmed by the response in the GCC region, it is planning to launch programs in more subjects and in other languages like Arabic soon. The respect for the Indian education system here is very high and a lot of parents want their children to be a part of it. The availability of the new and improved BYJU’S App will offer them access to one of the world’s popular learning apps at their fingertips.
In this new version, the teams have worked together to create superior learning experiences. The lessons on the application are recommended based on a student’s learning style and academic requirements. Across subjects, grades and chapters, the team has created a powerful knowledge graph with over 50,000 concepts and relationships.
Assessments are integrated with the videos to support knowledge acquisition. When a student struggles with an assessment, each wrong answer is mapped to a specific learning gap and targeted remedial videos and activities are recommended as a review. This way, it encourages students to learn at their own pace and style. Technology, content, and design have been brought together powerfully to captivate, motivate and guide students to learn better.
Overall, the BYJU’S mission is to make learning effective for all students. In fact, in a recent survey, 93 percent of parents reported an overall increase in their children’s grades after using BYJU’S-The learning app. With 12 million students learning from BYJU’S today, the app has ushered in a whole new era of personalized learning that offers access to high-quality content and top teachers for students across geographies.
